First hand story…
Share ThisWe are north of San Diego in Banning, CA and are being pounded by massive winds that is blowing the dust, dirt and sand left from previous fires.
As I write this, our once green lawn, is now covered with 3-4 inches of dirt and sand. We are trying to keep the dirt from coming inside our not so ‘air-tight’ California Delux windows by duct taping around the windows. I’ve also had to even put towels down at the base of the front door to help prevent dirt from blowing in. Our house is in good shape, but the strength of this wind in unbelievable.
Our roof tiles, as well as our neighbors’ roofs are all coming ‘unravelled’. We’ve never seen anything like this. In fact, one of my windows (brand new replacement windows that were installed following the last sand/dirt storm) is starting to creak like it could blow.
The sound is like that same whirring as you might hear in a bad snow blizzard. The wind gusts come in gusts every 30 seconds or less.
Around our neighborhood we’ve seen trees uprooted, branches flying around, signs twisted and damage to roofs and property.
Unbelieveable….
